It is unknown what occurs that turns someone into a witch. Some say being born during the blood moon causes it, while others think witches are satanists who were chosen by demons to wreak havoc on the world. Whatever superstition it may be, witches are nonetheless feared because of their mystical powers. For generations, those who awoken as witches were promptly banished from society because of their potential danger. Many witches went on to live miserable lives as lone nomads, while others were filled with rage and used their newfound powers to get back at those who banished them. However, one witch had the brilliant idea to use her scornful title for profit. While many were wary of witches, some were envious of their ability to create magic and zip through the air. For the niche group of people who wanted in on the witchy lifestyle, Estelle the Witch had them covered.
On the outskirts of villages and dangerous wild zones, the sought-after “Ruby Red Shop” can be found. The store has never been in the same place for more than two days, yet the same witch always runs it. Estelle welcomes all normal-blooded people with open arms and tempting offerings such as fire and ice spells. Though, her products seem overpriced to the witches. The others know fire and ice are easy tricks to pull off, but the regular folks don’t know that. In a way, it could be seen as revenge for all the years of being treated like a monster, but to Estelle, this was all a fun, sneaky way to make a living.
Estelle was designed for a conceptual game, "Elements of Infinite." A fantasy game that takes place in medieval times. She is the first human model I have ever created and you can probably tell by some odd geometry here and there. Despite the flaws, I still think Estelle came out alright for a first time human model.
Before settling on a final design, multiple possible looks are created and swapped through. I wanted each concept to have the same color palette for consistency.
I chose the Long Dress outfit because of its elegant and 'witchy' appearance. Plus, I loved the hairstyle the most.
Estelle has multiple separate parts: a shirt, dress, belt, shoes, hair rings, hair, eyes, and golden beads. Since her dress was obscuring her legs, I drew their outline so that I could still model them.
Consisting of only 11.7k triangles and 6.2k vertices, Estelle is a low poly model appropriate for a variety of game settings.
